Custom officials of Shah Amanat International Airport held a man along with worth of Tk 50 lakh foreign currency on Wednesday.
The arrestee was identified as Abdus Shukkur (36) hailing from Hathazari upazila of Chattogram. The currencies included Dirham, Riyal, Dinar and US Dollars. Deputy-Commissioner of Chattogram Custom House Md Nuruddin Milon said, “Abdus Shukkur was supposed to go to Dubai on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight.
Acting on secret information, customs officials challenged Shukkur and found the currencies hidden under a separate layer of a jackfruit and two pine-apples belong with him.
