Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), during an anti-crime drive, arrested a person with huge fake Bangladeshi currency in the metropolis area last night. RAB sources said the arrested person was identified as Azibor Ali, 28, son of late Moyez Uddin of Meherchandi Koroitala area under Chandrima Police Station in Rajshahi city.
On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a sudden raid at Budhpara area under Matiher Police Station at 7.30 pm and arrested him with fake currency of 1.88 lakh red-handed.
A case was filed with the police station concerned in this connection and the arrested person with the seized counterfeit notes was handed over to police this morning.
