One thief of thief syndicate was arrested along with 340 kgs copper coils of Rampal Banglades-India Friendship coal based power plant in Bagerhat district was arrested by 3 members of Ansar battalion of Rampal Camp under Khulna-3 Ansar Battalion recently according to a delayed report received here.
Acting on secret information 3 members of Ansar battalion on duty raided a garden attached to the power plant area at the night, searched the area and arrested one Md. Ashraful Hawladar (31) along with copper coils (of the power plant) and his motor cycle. The arrestee is the son of one Md. Nur Uddin Hawladar of village Gauramva under Rampal Upazila. The market price of the recovered copper coil is Tk.5 lakh 40 thousand.
Another report states that two members of a thief-syndicate were arrested along with 5 smart mobile phones from the main gate of Rampal Bangladesh-India friendship coal based Power Plant in Bagerhat district on Monday morning (at about 10-30 am) by the members of the Ansar battalion on duty.
The arrested persons are Sabbir Shikdar (23), son of one Forhad Shikdar of village Charvolashia under Sadarpur Upazila in Faridpur district and Imran Shikdar (20), son of one Dudu Mia Shikdar of the same area.
It is learnt from Rupsa based Ansar battalion office that on Monday in the morning while 3 members of Ansar battalion were discharging their normal duties at the main gate of the power plant they found two employees of the power plant in suspicious movement.
Then the Ansars arrested them, searched their bodies and recovered 5 smart mobile phones from their possessions.
In the face of interrogation the thieves confessed that they had stolen the mobiles from the interior of power plant. The present market value of the mobiles is at least Tk.10 lakh.
It may be mentioned here that only a few days ago two persons were arrested along with 400 kgs of copper coils hidden into the cheeses of a truck.
