Police arrested a man along with firearms and ammunition on the Dhaka-Rajshahi Highway at Belpukuria in Puthia upazila early Friday.
The arrested was identified as Sharif Ali, 34, son of Liakat Ali of Shabti village in Narayaganj port upazila.
Acting on secret information, a team of police intercepted a Narayanganj-bound bus of ‘Ultra Modern Paribahan’ from Chapainawabanj and arrested Sharif and recovered two foreign- made pistols, four magazines and 10 rounds of bullet from his possession.
A case was filed with Puthia Police Station in this connection.
