Customs officials arrested a man along with 932 grams gold worth Tk 45 lakh at Shahjalal International Airport here on Saturday. The arrestee was identified as Umar Faruqe of in Feni district.
Joint Commissioner of Dhaka Customs House Sohel Rahman said Faruqe arrived here from Saudi Arabia by a flight of Saudi Airlines, ‘SV 808’, around 12:30 pm.
Tipped off, the customs officials challenged Farque while crossing the green channel and seized the gold from a tin of milk powder he was carrying, he said.
