UNB, Dhaka :
Customs officials seized 6.64 kg gold worth Tk 3 crore at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong and detained a man in this connection on Thursday.
The arrestee was identified as Shaha Hossain, 30, a resident of Rauzan upazila of Chittagong.
Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate director general Mainul Haque said a flight
of flydubai from Dubai landed at the airport around 3:40pm.
Customs officials challenged Shaha, a passenger of the flight, when he was crossing the green channel and recovered one gold bar searching his body.
Later, the customs officials along with Shaha launched a drive in the flight and recovered more 56 gold bars kept hidden under the seat.
