Airport Armed Police arrested a passenger and recovered 4,700 pieces of Yaba tablets from near the domestic terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon.
The arrested man has been identified as Palash Mahmud, 43, son of one Abdul Hakim, resident of west Rampura in the city.
Alamgir Hossain Shemul, Additional Superintendent of Police of the Airport Armed Police confirmed the news to media that Palash flew from Cox’s Bazar by Novo Air and was arrested at Dhaka International Airport around 4:30 pm.
Palash admitted that he was carrying around 4,700 pieces of Yaba tablets worth Taka 23 lakh inside his anus that he bought from one Taher of Ukihia in Cox’s Bazar district.
Palash used to trade Yaba, even he brought more consignment of Yaba last year and sold those in various parts of the city’s Rampura and Ashulia.
