UNB, Cittagong :
Customs officials seized four gold bars weighing around 500 grams from a passenger of a flight from Sharjah and detained the passenger at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong on Monday.
The detained passenger was identified as Mohammad Khurshid, a resident of Nazirhat area in Fatikchhari upazila.
Moshiur Rahman Mandal, assistant commissioner of Chittagong Airport Customs, said the gold bars were recovered searching the wallet and shoes of Khurshid, who came from Sharjah by a flight of Air Arabia that landed at 9:00am. The passport of Khurshid was also seized, he added.
