Chittagong Metropolitan police rounded up one drug peddler alongwith 1500 pieces of intoxicated yaba tablets from Bakalia Shah Amanat bridge area in city on Thursday.
Acting on secret information, Bakalia thana police rounded up one Abdus Sabur Aman(31) , son of Late Rafiquddin of Cox’sBazar after searching a Dhaka bound Hanif Paribahan passenger coach at shah amanat bridge.
The coach was coming from coxsbazar , sources said. Sub Inspector of Bakalia thana Abdul Karim led the drive against drug trafficking.
The detained drug peddler first identified himself as journalist of coxsbazar Khabar Patrika, later on quizzing admitted him as drug trafficker, sources said. Police lodge a case under narcotics act against him and send him to court custody on Thursday afternoon.
