UNB, Dhaka :
Members of Armed Police Battalion (APBn) arrested a man along with 12 gold bars weighing 1,200 grams at Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Monday night.
The arrestee was identified as Year Khan,45, a resident of Kaliakoir upazila of Gazipur district.
Assistant superintendent of APBn Tanjina Akhter said a flight of Tiger Airlines ‘TR-2656’ from Singapore landed at the airport around 8:00 pm.
A team of APBn arrested Year Khan at the airport while he was trying to flee after taking the gold bars from a passenger of the flight.
Later the team members recovered the gold worth Tk60 lakh from his mobile phone set.
