UNB, Dhaka :Customs officials seized 12 gold bars, weighing 1.2 kg, and arrested a man in this connection at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Tuesday night.The arrestee was identified as Shah Zaman Akon Mohammad Tajul Islam, 42, hailing from Comilla.DG of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate Mainul Khan said Tajul arrived here from Kula Lumpur by a flight of Malindo Air ‘MXD-162’ at around 9:05pm.Tipped off, customs officials challenged Tajul while crossing the green channel and recovered the goldbars, worth Tk 60 lakh, from his shoes. Tajul traveled to Malaysia four times this month, Mainul Khan added.
