A team of Customs Intelligence arrested a passenger who arrived by Malaysia Airlines with 2 gold bars and some ornaments, weighing 1.4 kg worth about Tk 65 lakh in the city’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport early Wednesday. The arrested person has been identified as Ziaur Rahman, hailing from Munshiganj district, customs officials said.

Ummey Nahida Akter confirmed the news and said that a team of the customs intelligence challenged Ziaur as his movement appeared suspicious in the airport area at about 2:00am. His bag was searched and two gold bars and some ornaments were found.
The Malaysia Airlines ‘MH 196’ arrived from Malaysia, said the customs AD.
