The police in Panchagarh have arrested an youth for making derogatory remarks about Prophet Muhammad (SM) on social media.
Arrested Rayan Huda Amit, 22, is a fourth year student of Social Welfare department of Carmichael College in Rangpur.
A police team led by Sudarshan Kumar Roy, Additional Police Superintendent, arrested Amit from his residence in Mithapukur area in the municipality.
Rayan was produced in a court on Sunday in a case filed by police with Panchagarh sadar police station under Information and Communications Technology Act, he said.
