Police arrested one peson suspecting involved with the murder of LengtaFakir and his attendant on Friday evening.
The detained was identified as Abdul Mannam Mona, 40, was arrested at Shershah Bangla Bazar on Friday evening, Chittagong Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Paritosh Ghosh said.
He said they detained Mona to check if the murders were a result of feud over a land. Locals said a youth fled away the sanctum of ‘Fakir’ Rahmat Ullah alias ‘Lengta Mamu’, by exploding two bombs after hacking to death him and his attendant Md Abdul Kader on Friday morning .
CMP Additional Commissioner Debdas Bhattacharya said they were investigating whether the incident was a result of enmity or if any ‘anti-Mazar’ forces were involved.
