One held after tendon of JL activist severed in Gournadi

Police arrested one youth in connection of cutting tendon of left hand of Kader Laskar, 40, a Jubo League activist, of Gournadi upazila under Barisal district.
Injured Kader admitted at Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital in critical condition on early Thursday.
Firoj Kabir, officer in charge of Gournadi police station, said police detained Sumon Haoladar in this connection on Wednesday late night.
Sub Inspector Sagir of the police station said Rahim Laskar, brother of the victim, lodged a case in this connection against two including Sumon Haoladar on Thursday morning.
According to the complainant of the case, recently Kader humiliated Sumon in dispute over missing a mobile phone. On this rivalry Sumon and his associate attacked Kader with a knife on Wednesday night at Berthi Bazaar of Gournadi.
Local people rushed to the spot rescued Kader and sent him to upazila health complex and from there he was referred to Barisal SBMCH.
In the meantime police arrested attacker Sumon Haoladar from the area.
Then arrested Sumon sent to Barisal judicial magistrate court and the court sent him to jail on Thursday afternoon, police sources said.
