A Dhaka court yesterday (Tuesday) sentenced a man to life term imprisonment for possessing 90 grams of heroin.
Convict Md Kamal alias Tablet Kamal is a resident of Hajikandi village in Haimchar upazila of Chandpur district.
The court also fined him Tk 10,000 in default, he will suffer three months more in the prison.
Dr Sheikh Golam Mahbub, Judge of Sixth Special Judge Court, pronounced the verdict.
The court, however, acquitted two other accused from the charges as they were found not guilty.
According to the prosecution, police arrested Kamal with the drugs from an abandoned house at Bhashantek in the city on November, 20, 2016.
Later, a case was filed against him with Bhashantek Police Station in this connection.
