A special court in Khulna on Monday convicted a man and sentenced him to life term imprisonment for possessing firearms. The convict was identified as Alamgir Molla, son of Delwar Hossain, a resident of Damodar Mollapara in Fultala upazila.
According to the prosecution, tipped off, a team of police conducted a raid on the house of Idris Morol of Damodar Dakkhinpara village of the upazila and arrested Alamgir on November 10, 2014. The law enforcers recovered a firearm from his possession.
