UNB, Chittagong :
A court here on Wednesday sentenced a young man to life term imprisonment for violating a dumb girl in Mohra area of the city in 2008.
The court also fined the convict, Linkon Das, Tk 50,000.
According to the prosecution, Linkon Das entered the house of his neighbour Gauranga Das and violated his dumb daughter on August 17, 2008.
On August 28, 2008, father of the girl filed a case against the rapists with Chandgaon Police Station.
The court framed charges against the accused on January 5, 2010.
After examining five witnesses and relevant documents, Judge of Chittagong Women and Children Repression Tribunal-1 M Rezaul Karim handed down the verdict.
