A tribunal court here on Wednesday sentence one person get hanged till death for rape and killing a minor girl under Kishoreganj Sadar Upazila .
The convicted person are Shah Alam son of Late Falu Mia of village Gaital Namapara of Kishoreganj town. Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Kiron Shankor Halder handed down the verdict.
As per the prosecution, the convicts rape and killing Afroja (4) daughter of Nayan Mia as same village in Kishoreganj Sadar Upazila on May 17, 2014.
When the case was filing Kishoreganj Police Station the police arrested the accused and confessed confessional statement to the magistrate. Police filed chargesheet against Shah Alam, son of late Falu of village Gaital Nampara, P.S and District- Kishoreganj to death penalty and conviction under section 9 (2) of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act 2000 (Amended 2003) and also fined 40 thousand taka. In the other hand under section 7 of the same law, the jail sentence imposes 14-year prison and fined of Tk 20,000 and indefult 6 months jail. Both the sentences will be executed together.
The case was conducted by Special PP Advocate M.A Afzol on behalf of the state while Formar PP Advocate Abu Bakkar Siddique on behalf of the accused.
