A Chittagong court on Wednesday sentenced a top listed criminal to five years jail in a case filed in 1998 for obstructing government works.
The court of Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Shafiuddin delivered the verdict against Nasir Uddin alias Shibir Nasir son of Elahi Box, hailed from Mondakini village under Hathazari upazila of the district.
Court sources said Kotwali Thana Police arrested Nasir from an abandoned teachers’ dormitory of Chittagong College around 4.15 pm on April 6, 1998.
