Benapole port station police recovered the body of a Bangladeshi youth from the River Ichhamati that connects Bangladesh and India at around 10am on Monday, Abu Saleh Mohammad Masud Karim, officer in-charge, Benapole port police station told Newsmen.
The dead was identified as Isharat Hossain, 28, a resident of Benapole.
The OC told that the youth was a suspected smuggler. He might be drowned in the river while crossing the border. ‘The police recovered the body at around 10am’, he added.
