One-fifth of FDI comes through BEPZA

One-fifth of the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to the country in last financial year came through Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA).
According to BEPZA, 20 percent of the total FDI flow of over $404.36 million came through the state-run authority.
According to the Annual Performance Agreement (APA), BEPZA exceeded the investment target by $66.36 million against the target $ 338million for 2015-16 fiscal year. Some U$404.36 million has been invested in the enterprises of eight EPZs under BEPZA during July-2015 to June-2016.
In 2015-16 fiscal year, $110.71 million investment has been made in Chittagong EPZ, $80.63 million in Dhaka EPZ, $60.51 in Karnaphuli EPZ, $54.70 million in Adamjee EPZ, $30.18 million in Comilla EPZ, $18.98 million in Mongla EPZ, US$ 15.11 million in Ishwardi EPZ and $33.53 million in Uttara EPZ.
