Barishal Metropolitan Police (BMP) arrested one person for collecting toll from residential hotel Sattara by cheating identifying himself as a member of detective branch (DB) of BMP on Sunday.
The arrestee was primarily identified as Bashiruddin Haoladar, 44, tenant of a rented house in Kawnia Road of the city and a fourth class employee of LGRD office at Barishal.
Sanaullah Chowdhury, younger brother of the hotel owner Solaiman Chowdhury, said arrested Bashir Haoladar identifying him as Humayun Kabir and member of DB police on Thursday night entering inside the hotel and searching different rooms claimed that in the hotel immoral unsocial activities going on.
Bashir beating Sanaullah and hotel manager Yusuf giving threat to arrest them collect Tk.32, 500 as toll and received signature on a paper with writing that they will pay more Tk. One lakhs later.
Then Bashir detaining microbus driver Afsar and his wife with a child, boarder of room 204, left the hotel on early Friday.
