A minor girl died and her mother and maternal uncle fell sick allegedly after drinking soft drinks at Nishchinta Baria village in Khoksa upazila on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Afsana, 1, daughter of Asad Munsi of the village.
Ali Newaz, officer-in-charge of Khoksa Police Station, said Sima, wife of Asad Munshi, their daughter Afsana and Sima’s brother Shamim, 3, fell sick after drinking Upper-Ten brand soft drinks of RC Group at about 4:30pm.
Later, they were rushed to Khoksa Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctor declared Afsana dead.
Police seized the bottles of soft drinks, the OC added.
