Chittagong Bureau :
A court in Chittagong convicted one businessman with one year imprisonment and penalty of Tk.5 lakh through deceiving by cheque of First Security Bank Ltd .
Additional Session Judge Md. Towfiq Aziz announced this verdict yesterday. The convicted businessman is Md. Jahangir Alam who is the owner of a shop named M/s Biye Bazar of New Market in city. Sources said First Security Bank , Lohagar Branch officer Giasuddin lodged a case before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (No.148/2012) under NI Act 138 for deceiving the Bank through cheque of Tk.5 lakh 6 thousand.
The convict is now absconding and the punishment will be counted as soon as he is arrested, sources said.
