Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested a boatman with two local-made arms, eight rounds of bullet and 35,475 pieces of yaba tablet from Kostoraghat area of the district town on Thursday noon.
At that time, police also seized a fishing trawler from the spot. The arrested is Mohammad Abdullah, 50, son of late Bacha Mia, of Samity Para area in the town. Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of district DB Monirul Islam said, during the raid, police arrested another one on suspicion but later freed him.
A case was under process in this connection, the OC added.
