Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested a man with a light gun (LG) following a clash between two groups of locals at city’s Bangla Bazar area.The arrested was identified as Mohammad Reaz.Police said two groups of the locals were locked into a clash over establishing supremacy at Bangla Bazar Ghat area under city’s Sadarghat thana on Monday.
Supporters of the both groups brought out processions in the area and fired blank shots to create panic, said Sub-Inspector (SI) Shimul Das of Sadarghat thana.
Police arrested Reaz with a locally-made LG and several rounds of cartridges from the spot, the SI said adding that a case was under process in this regard.
