Miscreants stabbed to death an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Darus Salam Police Station in the city’s Gabtali area on Thursday night. The victim was identified as ASI Ibrahim, 40. Police said Ibrahim was on duty at a check-post set up near Parbata Cinema Hall of Gabtali in the evening. When a suspicious motorcycle was crossing the check-post around 8:40pm, on-duty policemen signaled it to stop, said Inspector (Investigation) Faruqul Alam of the police station. However, three criminals riding the motorcycle stabbed ASI Ibrahim indiscriminately, he said. He was taken to Suhrawardi Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
