The Open market sale (OMS) has started selling rice at Tk 30 per kg in Kishoreganj on Thursday.
DC Kishoreganj Mohammad Shamim formally inaugurated the programme at Gaital in Kishoreganj Sadar while District Food Controller Khandakar Farhad was in the chair on Thursday.
Sadar UNO Mohammad Ali Siddique, Food Ministry Assistant Secretary Selina Sultana were attended as special guests. CAB District President Alam Sarowar Tito and others dignified officials were president.
DC Mohammad Shamim Alam said that like the rest of the country, rice has been sold in open market at Tk 30 per kg. People including TCB card holders are very interested in taking this rice. Through this, low-income people stand in line from morning to buy rice worth 30 taka per kg.
The beneficiaries thanked the Prime Minister for this.
DC Food Khandaker Farhad said, knitting of these rice is of high quality. The program will run till 3 pm . In this three-month-long program, apart from ordinary buyers, TCB card holders can also buy this rice. A target has been set that 17,200 customers will get the benefit every day through 43 OMS centers.
Shahzadpur (Sirajganj) Correspondent reports: Open market sale (OMS) has been inaugurated in open market at Majnu Traders near Upazila Mosque Shahzadpur Upazila of Sirajganj on Thursday.

Feni Correspondent says: A total of 60 thousand 954 TCB card holders in 6 upazilas of Feni will get 5 kg of rice at the rate of Tk30 (once a fortnight, twice a month) from Thursday . In order to prevent the upward trend in the market price of food grains and to support to low-income groups and to keep the market price stable. TCB card holders will to 5 kg fortnightly rice twice a month in two installments of 5 kg each. DC Abu Salim Mahmud-ul Hasan said these things during a press conference with journalists at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Wednesday afternoon. In continuation of this, the Deputy Commissioner of Feni, Abu Salim Mahmud-ul Hasan inaugurated the rice distribution program of TCB by distributing rice at Mitu Store, the agent of TCB, next to Feni Municipality on Thursday.
At this time, every TCB card holder can purchase rice at the rate of Tk 30 per 5 kg. A total of 60 thousand 954 card holders will get rice in 6 upazilas of Feni district. Out of this, 20 thousand 845 people in Feni Sadar Upazila, 8 thousand 702 people in Chagalnaya, 10 thousand 164 people in Sonagazi, 7 thousand 546 people in Parashuram, 9 thousand 421 people in Daganbhaya and 4 thousand 276 people in Fulgazi card holders can buy rice from OMS dealers.
BSS from Naogaon adds: Sale of rice at Tk 30 per kg under the open market sale (OMS) for low-income people began in the district today.
DC Khalid Mehdi Hasan formally inaugurated the open market sale (OMS) programme as the chief guest held in Mukti Mor area of the town, organized by food department.
Deputy Director of Safe Food Authority ministry of food Md. Abdus Sobhan, District Food Controller Alamgir Kabir, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mirza Imam Uddin, various levels of district administration and food department officials, journalists, dealers of OMS, among others, were present.
