OMS programme starts in Sylhet

OMS programme have started in Sylhet for low income people. Rice will be available at the price of Tk 30 per kg and flour at the rate of Tk 18 per kg in the open market.
The program was inaugurated by the Divisional Commissioner of Sylhet Dr. Muhammad Mosharraf Hossain On Thursday (September 1) morning.
Those concerned said that rice will be sold through 19 dealers in Sylhet City Corporation area. Out of this, 7 trucks and 8 shops will be operated. There are 140 dealers in the entire division.
TCB card holders can buy 5 kg of rice at Tk 30 per kg after 15 days in OMS program. They can buy a total of 10 kg twice a month. Apart from this, card holders can buy flour at the rate of Tk 18 per kg. Meanwhile, a food-friendly program of providing rice at Tk 15 per kg has also been started.
During the inauguration of this program, Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Md. Mujibur Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Anwar Sadat, Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Office Assistant Commissioner Sadia Binte Solaiman were present.
Also Sylhet District Food Controller Nayan Jyoti Chakma, Sylhet District Food Controller Anjan Kumar Das, Sylhet ASB Officer-in-Charge Sanjay Maitri, Sylhet Khadimnagar ASB Officer-in-Charge Sakhawat Hossain, Upazila Food Controller (Technical) Biplab Kumar Das, Food Inspector Mahbubur Rahman Chowdhury, Food Inspector Mizanur Rahman was present.
