Today is the exceptional day for the popular film actor Omar Sani, according to him. He is contesting for the post of President in the election of Bangladesh Film Club Ltd, which is scheduled to be held from 2:00pm to 7:00pm. While talking about contesting in the election Omar Sani said, “I want to take the responsibility of the Film Club to take it far away. I believe members of the Club will elect me in the election for the development of the Club.”
Omar Sani has already finished shooting of Rafique Shikder’s movie Bosonto Bikel. Shahnoor, Shipon, Sabah, among others, were his co-actors in the movie. He was one of the popular heroes of 90s who has already crossed three decades of his acting career. According to him, he started shooting of Sheikh Nazrul Islam’s Chander Alo, Fakhrul Hasan Boiragi’s Agnipoth and Aftab Khan Tulu’s Aamar Jaan at a time. But Chander Alo released first and it was commercially successful movie during that time. Before that he was confirmed to act in Darashiko’s movie Sujon Banshi but this film did not make. So, Darashiko gave him the opportunity to work in Chander Alo, he also said.
Omar Sani was born in Gouranadi in Barishal. Imran is his nickname. Director JalalUddin Rumi gave his name Omar, while the actor himself kept his name Sani.
