Oman Air plans to increase its frequencies to Muscat-Dhaka-Muscat beginning December 1, from four flights to six flights a week on its award-winning A380 carrier.
The announcement came at a press conference at a city hotel on Wednesday.
Chief Operating Officer of the Oman Air Abdulrahman Al Busaidy attended the conference as the chief guest.
Muscat-Dhaka-Muscat route has been in service since October 25 with four flights a week on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The new frequencies will see flights on Mondays and Wednesdays being added to the schedule in December.
Abdulrahman said the new service builds on the powerful and long-standing cultural and economic links that have been established between Bangladesh and the Sultanate of Oman.
He said, “Oman Air is very happy to start its second destination in Bangladesh, to the capital city of Dhaka. Flights between Muscat and Dhaka mark a significant milestone in enhancing trade, manpower, tourism and cultural exchanges between Oman and Bangladesh.”
Busaidy said it will also give travellers from Bangladesh the opportunity to enjoy Oman’s renowned hospitality and rich cultural beauty.
He said furthermore, upon arrival in Muscat, they will also benefit from easy access to a wide range of outstanding destinations across the Middle East, East Africa and Europe via Oman Air’s expanding network.
Fight WY-317 will arrive in Dhaka on Fridays and Sundays at 16.30 in the afternoon and depart at 18.00. On Tuesdays and Thursdays Flight WY-315 will arrive at 20.05 in the night and depart at 21.20, offering convenient connections to various Middle East and European destinations.
In addition, Oman Air currently operates seven flights a week between Chittagong and Muscat, the capital of Oman. Oman Air will serve customers on the new route, using award winning Airbus 330-300s, configured with 204 economy class seats and 26 business class seats.
