Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) will organise Olympic Day Run in the capital and across the country tomorrow (July 28) as part of the IOC’s global programme to popularize Olympic movement.
The Day Run, aiming to establish peace all over the World through Sports, will start from Ramna Tennis Complex at 7 am and terminate at the Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) after parading Engineers Institute, Foreign Ministry, Press Club, Baitul Mukarram National Mosque and National Sports Council areas.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr Biren Sikder is expected to present in the Day Run programme as the chief guest.
Participation in the Olympic Day Run will remain open to all sports-loving people.
On the occasion of Olympic Day run, the BOA will organise various programmes including blood donation, painting competition, prize distribution ceremony, seminar and unveil cover of the Olympic book.
The blood donation programme will be held on the same day at BNS at 8 am while painting competition will be held Sheikh Russel Roller Skating Complex at 10 am.
The prize distribution ceremony, seminar and unveil of Olympic book will be taken place at BOA auditorium on July 29 (Saturday).
In this regards, a press conference was held on Wednesday at conference room of BOA auditorium to provide all the details of the Day Run programme.
BOA Secretary General Syed Shahed Reza, BOA vice-president Mahbub Ara Gini, BOA Deputy Secretary General and Olympic Day Organising Committee’s chairman Ashikur Rahman Miku, BOA Deputy Secretary General and Olympic Day Organising Committee’s member Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, BOA treasurer and Olympic Day Media Sub Committee’s convener Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapal were also present on the occasion.
