An old woman passenger met her tragic end when her scarf (Orna) twisted with a wheel of a mechanized rickshaw van in the village Rajpat under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhatr district on Sunday morning.
The ill-fated woman was identified as Hasina Begum (65), wife of one Mahsin Shaikh of the adjacent village Paikpara.
It is learnt from the locals that in the morning Mohsin Shaikh and his wife Hasina Begeum were going to Fakirhat Upazila headquarters from his village by the mechanized van and when it reached the place of occurrence Hsasina Begum’s Orna (modesty scarf), somehow, clipped and twisted with one of its wheels. As a result, she fell on the ground from the van and died on the spot.
