An oil tanker caught fire at a filling station at Baoikhola on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway in Basail upazila on Tuesday morning.
Fire service sources said an oil tanker caught fire in front of Nahian Filling Station in the area at about 8:00 am.
Informed, three firefighting units from Sadar, Mirzapur and Kaliakoir fire service stations rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after two hours of frantic efforts.
No casualties were reported in the incident.
Meanwhile, vehicular movement on the highway remained halted due to the incident.
