A devastating fire broke out in a oil depot in Chittagong yesterday morning at about 9 am. The fire incident occurred in the depot owned by Md. Iqbal at Feringhee bazaar area leaves the properties worth about Tk.5 lakh .
An official of fire brigade office of Agrabad sources said sensing the news of fire incident, 5 mobile vans of fire services rushed to the spot and doused the fire after one and half hour. Fire brigade men managed to save oil about Tk.5 lakh, sources.
The fire originated from electric short circuit, sources said.
