Oikyafront firm on deferring polls schedule by a month

Jatiya Oikyafront leader and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) President ASM Abdur Rab has said that the Oikyafront is firm on deferring the polls schedule by a month.
He said this after a meeting with Jatiya Oikyafront leaders at Dr Kamal Hossain’s Motijheel chamber on Monday afternoon.
The Oikyafront leaders wanted to meet with Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda yesterday, but he (CEC) could not give them any time schedule.
Rab told the journalists that the polls schedule on December has been fixed with an ill motive. Because after one day of December 30 is the English New Year. All diplomats would have on leave. There will also be no foreign observers. The government has fixed the date to foil free and fair polls.  
“We are still on our demand. If the government does not consider rescheduling the polls, the Oikyafront will take steps after a meeting, he said.
Rab, however, said if government wants reschedule is possible.
On Sunday, the Jatiya Oikyafront in a press conference urged the Election Commission to defer the election date by a month.
Before dialogue, Jatiya Oikyafront also urged the Election Commission to delay the announcement of the election schedule after conclusion the dialogue.
