Jatiya Oikya Front leaders are now passing a busy time to make its October 24 rally in Sylhet a grand success.
With this end in view, leaders of the Front sat at a meeting at the Gano Forum’s temporary office at Arambagh, Motijheel in the capital on Monday to take necessary strategies and preparations.
The Front leaders made BNP Vice-Chairman Mohammad Shahjahan, former DUCSU VP Sultan Mohammad Mansur Ahmed and BNP Chairperson’s adviser Monirul Haque Chowdhury as coordinators from yesterday’s meeting to make the Sylhet rally a success, said Mostak Ahmed, member of central coordination committee of Jatiya Oikya Front.
Among others, Oikya Front leaders Jaglul Haidar Afrik, Shahidullah Kaiser, Habibur Rahman Habib AOM Shafiq Ullah, Mominul Islam and Mostak Ahmed were present at the meeting chaired by Monirul Haque Chowdhury.
Meanwhile, Oikya Front Sylhet unit leaders also sat at a meeting on Monday at the BNP’s city unit office at Vatalia.
Abdul Qaium Jalaly, Senior Vice-President of city unit BNP presided over the meeting. Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, BNP chairperson’s Advisor after the meeting told journalists that Oikya Front’s Wednesday’s grand rally in Sylhet’s Registry Maidan would be a ocean of people.
“Huge numbers of people will join the Oikya Front’s grand rally. The people of Sylhet are waiting for the rally to listen to the national leaders,” Muktadir said.
Earlier on Sunday evening, Oikya Front leaders held a meeting at the Gono Forum’s Arambagh office to discuss the preparation of Sylhet rally. JSD President ASM Abdur Rab told reporters after the meeting that new messages will be given at Sylhet rally.
He said, Gono Forum President. Dr. Kamal Hossain will be the chief guest at the Sylhet rally. Sylhet Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury will preside over it while BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will be the main speaker.
On Sunday, the Sylhet Metropolitan Police have given permission for the rally of the Jatiya Oikya Front in the district town.
Police conveyed this to the coordinator of the Front’s Sylhet programme and district BNP General Secretary Ali Ahmed.
