OIC Sec Gen visits IUT

Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Ameen Madani visited the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) at Board Bazar in Gazipur yesterday.
During the visit, the OIC secretary general speaking at a meeting said that they would provide help in improving the educational standard of the IUT in near future. He urged the teachers and students to be dedicated for the development of the institution so that it can cater to the need of the modern day science and technology.
Madani also assured economic support in order to modernize the laboratory for the greater benefit of the institution and students. He also spoke on technology as well as Islamic ideology.
It is to be noted that more than one thousand students from twenty countries, including the host Bangladesh, are studying in this university. Presently, no female student can take admission in this institution for want of a hostel.
Education Secretary Dr. Muhammad Sadique, Director General of Foreign Ministry Tarique Ahsan and Vice Chancellor of IUT Dr M Imtiaz Hossain, among others, were present.
