Comilla University (CoU) administration has announced a rule for the students to apply in self body at the university to avail the institutional e-mail (Edumail) facility.
Many university students are frustrated with the decision of such a conventional application process in the corona crisis period when it comes to take advantage of digitalization. In addition, the students concerned that as a result of the earlier payment rules, the students who are in remote districts will suffer a lot to get e-mail facility as the university is closed.
A student of Economics, Faruq Hossain said, ‘My house is in Khulna division. It would have been easier for me to apply if the university were open. But according to the rules, I have to wait until the university opens to get the e-mail. Also, at this time of the digital revolution, such a traditional process at the university level is frustrating.’ As edu-mail is an important issue and there are security risks here, that’s why, it has made rule to apply presenting in self body’ said the relevant branch of the university.
‘According to the rules of the application, to get the institutional e-mail, the students have to collect the form from the website or department of the university and submit it in the proper process’, said Assistant Database Programmer of ICT Cell of the university Md. Masudul Hasan.
