A day after its announcement, the government on Thursday issued a gazette notification regarding the resumption of offices and operation of public transports on a limited scale from May 31 to June 15.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued the gazette notification with some specific guidelines.
All the public transports, including buses, trains and water vessels, must maintain health safety guidelines, it said.
The notification also said all the government, semi-government and autonomous offices will resume under self-management.
It, however, asked the ailing officials and employees, and pregnant women to refrain from joining offices.
The notification also said everyone will have to wear face masks and stringently follow 13-point health directives.
Besides, all officials and employees have been directed not to leave the work stations during the period.
The government declared public holidays from March 26 with an aim to contain the coronavirus. Later, the public transports and all flights were also shut for the same reason.
Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) on Thursday announced to resume domestic flights on a limited scale from June 1.
The flights will be operated on Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet and Syedpur routes from June 1, said CAAB Chairman Air Vice Marshall Muhammad Mafidur Rahman.”All the flights must be operated maintaining the health safety guidelines,” he said.
The CAAB chairman, however, said the embargo on international flights will remain effective until June 15.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines will resume their domestic flights on the same day, but the international ones will remain suspended until further notice.
Earlier on Wednesday, State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said the government will allow limited operation of public transport from May 31.
He also said all buses, trains and water vessels will operate from May 1 with limited passengers maintaining the health hygiene rules.
