A promotional seminar held recently in Comilla Export Processing Zone (CEPZ) to attract more investment in the Uttara, Ishwardi and Mongla EPZs located in Northern & Southern region of the country.
This seminar was organized to enhance local & foreign investment in these three EPZs.
Md. Mehbub Ali, General Manager of Comilla EPZ began activities of the seminar with welcome briefing on overall scenarios of BEPZA.
He described the investment friendly atmosphere existing in the Ishwardi, Uttara & Mongla EPZ through power point and video documentary presentation. General Manager of Comilla EPZ focused special incentives in these three EPZs sought the more investment.
He mentioned 7 years tax holiday, reduced rate for land and factory building including other logistic facilities, essential connectivity that is contributing an important role in promoting of Mongla, Ishwardi and Uttara EPZ. investment and export of these three EPZs will be easier through Padma Bridge, Mongla airport and Asian highway, he added.
Investors of foreign & local enterprises of Comilla EPZ, Director of Comilla Chamber of Commerce and President of Brahmanbaria Chamber of Commerce were present in the seminar.
They praised the organizer to arrange such type of seminar, which gave them an opportunity to know in details about BEPZA particularly Uttara, Mongla & Ishwardi EPZ. Foreign & local investors expressed satisfaction over the working environment in EPZs and potentiality of the easily trainable Bangladeshi workforce.
Chinese and Japanese investors assured that their owner would think about to enhance business in Bangladesh particularly on these three EPZs. Representatives of Chambers said that the seminar will be more effective if jointly organized with local & federation chambers.
In the context of promotional campaign for EPZs Nazma Binte Alamgir, General Manager (Public Relations), BEPZA said, ‘publications & video documentary of BEPZA usually send to various seminars, symposium through the Embassy in abroad.’
In addition she said that, different promotional materials are being sending to seminars, chambers, multinational companies and donor agencies in regular basis.
Among others Major Sajjad Hossain Khan, Deputy General Manager (Intelligence) and other officers of the concern zone were present in the seminar.
