Officer-in-Charge (OC), Md Alamgir Hossain and two Sub-Inspectors (SIs) of Jalalabad police station in Sylhet have been suspended for their alleged negligence in their duties in connection with Rajan killing. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP), Rahmatullah, confirmed the suspension to media on Friday. Earlier, the Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Friday confirmed that the alleged police officials who were involved in probe report in connection with the Rajan killing would be brought under trial soon. The minister made the comment while briefing journalists at Sylhet airport, this noon. On Thursday, an investigation report has found that two policemen tried to save several men who were involved in the murder of teenager Samiul Alam Rajon. The committee, formed to investigate the brutal killing of 13-year-old boy, submitted it’s report to the office of Sylhet Metropolitan Police at 11.00pm, accusing Jalabad Thana OC Md Alamgir and SI Aminul Islam. The probe also found that the cops misbehaved with the father of Rajon when he went to the police station to file a case. Rajon died of brain hemorrhage after he was tortured by a group of brutes who were “punishing” him in Kumargaon Bus Stand area of Sylhet on July 8 on charges of theft. Around 64 injury marks were found in his body.
