State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM khalid said, the present government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina believes in freedom of press. So that the journalist community has been enjoying freedom in their profession as well as writing news story. The minister said this at a view exchange meeting and introductory of newly elected committee of Muktagacha Press Club as chief guest held at the Club premises on Saturday.
Presided over by President of the Club AFM Salam, the meeting was addressed among others by UNO Abdullah Al Mansur, Mayor of Muktagacha Pourashava Md. Billal Hossen Sarker, Acting Upazila Chairman Arab Ali, Vice Chairman Kakali Begum, Founder President of the Press Club, and also Vice President of Mymensingh Press Club AZM Imamuddin Mukta, Club member Bajran Agarola, Mononesh Das, Press Club Secretary M. Idris Ali.
The minister stressed on fair and objective journalism and urged the journalists to make news story with true facts maintaining ethics of journalism. Any untrue news story may create harmful effects in the society So that the journalists should be careful about producing news story.
