Objective journalism for upholding truth stressed

Speakers at a meeting underlined the need for flourishing of objective journalism for upholding truth and keeping the people free from false and baseless information and all sorts of confusion.
Readers of the Dainik Vorer Pata organized the discussion meeting at Netrakona Press club yesterday.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (general) Netrakona Dr. Abdur Rahim addressed the meeting as the chief guest while president of district journalists association Haider Jahan Chowdhury presided over the programme. The meeting was addressed, among others, by Additional Police Super Netrakona Khan Mohammad Abu Naser, war-wounded freedom fighter Osman Gani Talukder, vice president of Netrakona Press Club Advocate Nuruzzaman Nuru and General Secretary and BSS Netrakona district correspondent M Faqrul Haque. The speakers also said that a newspaper can play a vital role in freeing our society from crime, terrorism, superstition, corruption and militancy by building public opinion against all sorts of unlawful and anti-social activities.
