Former senior newscaster of the Bangladesh Television and wife of Abul Hashem, Editor of monthly Magazine ‘The Guardian’ Umme Kulsum Hashem passed away on Saturday night at 12.25 am. in city’s Millennium Hospital at Lalmatia. She was 49.
Umme Kulsum had been suffering from cancer for the last one year.
She left behind her husband, only son, Nafis Hashem and a host of relatives to mourn her death.
Umme Kulsum Hashem was also senior newscaster at the Bangladesh Betar, Senior Teacher of Mohammadpur Oxford International School and Vice Chairman of the Managing Committee of the Mohammadpur Government Ideal Primary School. She had taken the M. Phil. Degree from the Food and Nutrition Institute of the Dhaka University.
The body of Umme Kulsum Hashem was laid to rest at the Mohammadpur Central Graveyard after Namaj-e-janaza at the Mohammadpur Central Jame Masjid.
Family members of the deceased urged all to pray for the salvation of her departed soul.
