Prominent pediatric specialist and founder of Chattogram Maa-O-Shishu Hospital Dr Mominul Haque Chowdhury passed away in the Evercare Hospital in the capital on Wednesday. He was 96.
He left behind two sons and three daughters along with a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
He was buried at the family graveyard in Haldia Yasin Nagar in Roazan upazila following his Namaz-e-Janaza at Jamyatul Falah Jatiya Mosque on Wednesday.
His eldest son Muhammad Nasir Chowdhury is an engineer and his youngest son Mohammad Munir Chowdhury is the Director General of the National Museum of Science and Technology and the much-talked about magistrate who fought food adulteration.
Dr Mominul Haque Chowdhury was a captain of the Army Medical Corps of the then undivided Pakistan and played key role as an efficient Army physician in the both wings.
He was the first Bengali medical officer of Faujdarhat Cadet College. After pursuing higher studies in London, he rendered his service there as a resister and resident medical officer for nine years.
Dr Mominul was well-known for his work in the medical field throughout his entire career.
