Rizia Khanom, wife of Nurul Alam, Bureau Chief of the Daily New Age, Chittagong, died after suffering a major stroke at a local clinic in Chittagong on Thursday morning. She was 48. She left behind her husband, two sons, a daughter and a host of relatives to mourn her death.
She was buried at the family graveyard on Thursday evening following her namaz-e- janaja held at her native village in Raozan after Asr prayers.
Rizia has been suffering from cancer for long. She was admitted to the hospital as her condition deteriorated after suffering a major stroke on Monday.
