Professor Nurul Islam, the founding chairman of English Department at Jahangirnagar University (JU), passed away at a hospital in the city on Wednesday night. He was 78.
Professor Nurul left behind wife, a daughter, 2 sons, relatives, well-wishers and a host of admirers to mourn his death.
Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the university Prof Farzana Islam on Thursday expressed profound shock at this death.
