Begum Selima Samad, wife of ex-superintendent of police late Abdus Samad, died of old-age complications at Holy Family Red Crescent Hospital in the city on Sunday night.
She was 82.
Selima Samad, paternal aunt (fufu) of Ihsanul Karim, the press secretary to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, left behind her seven sons, two daughters as well as a host of relatives and admirers to mourn her death.
She was the elder sister of late Jawadul Karim, the former press secretary to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and mother-in-law of Hasan Mahmud Khandakar, the Bangladesh ambassador to Spain and ex-inspector general of police.
The Namaz-e-Janaza of Selima Samad was held at her Mohammadpur Iqbal Road residence after Zohr prayers on Monday and later she was buried at Banani Graveyard in the capital.
